Received a charge and a (in my case, matching) credit from the number. Interestingly, I just requested a reissue of the card less than 60 days ago because of another fraud. CC company verified that the charge is on the *new* account number rather than the *old* number. So the number of people who have had access to the card in the intervening time is much smaller than usual. Doesnt sound like theyre able to do anything with it though. So here we go again, updating all the stored credit card numbers with all the auto-payment programs and paypal and etc. Ugh.
Using the donotcall.gov and any other of those websites still dont work. You still get tons of unwanted calls from salespeople and surveys and whatnot. I have my house phone and cell phone both on the list and it doesnt help for either one. If anything it makes it worse.
I received a phone call from (161) 408-4448. They called my phone several times today. It was an Indian man saying I had a virus. I told them if they were going to be a solicitor not to call a computer geniuses house. They are persistent. They have tried to call back several times.
